1st mass email sent ;)

Post by UBT - Timbo »

Hi all,

I've just sent out the following email to ALL forum members:
Hi everyone,

You became a member of the UK BOINC Team forum some time ago, so we're just
getting in contact with you, to let you know some of our recent news.

We've recently upgraded our forum to the latest version, which gives us a
few extra bells and whistles...so, we'd be really pleased if you decided to
drop by again and renew acquaintances. The URL is now updated too, so
please visit:

http://www.ukboincteam.org.uk/newforum

(if you need a new password, then just let us know by reply email).

If you use Facebook, you can join our group at:

http://www.facebook.com/groups/UKBOINCTeam

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all UBT forum members who
have contributed some of their computing resources towards one (or more)
BOINC projects. As a result, the UK BOINC Team is the highest placed UK
team in the world and with over 5,000 members, we're also one of the
largest teams too. Back in 2004, when the team was formed, we had but a
handful of members and our credit total was nothing to brag about. Eleven
years later and we're now one of the highest placed teams in the World,
currently ranked 5th - a stunning achievement :)

Lastly, I'd like to wish you and your family a Safe and Merry Christmas and
a Happy and Healthy New Year.

best wishes
Tim
Founder, UK BOINC Team

PS: This is a "one-time" email, sent direct from our forum. If you do not
visit the forum, then you will NOT be contacted again. You do not need to
unsubscribe or reply to remove yourself from our email list. Your email
address is not sold/provided to any third parties.

If anyone wants to be removed from the email list (and hence not receive any further emails from the Team), then please be good enough to let me know by replying to this posting.

regards
Tim

I sent out 450 (approx) emails (via the forum) last night and (thus far) just 4 responders.....3 who logged in and one who just wanted a password refresh.

So, welcome back to ronniehare, AKH54 and MichaelMaggs - hope you pop back in again soon.

Hopefully, a few more will log in over the next few days...though I'm surprised that any "dead" email addresses (of which there are bound to be some) haven't "bounced" back...

But given that all the emails that don't result in a response, won't be contacted again, it's not a problem. Those who still retain some interest, might put the email away safely...while I'm sure a lot will just delete it and won't bother clicking on any UBT links provided.

It'll also be interesting to see if any members leave UBT - Temujin provided a nice link on his stats website to show the last 100 joining (and leaving) members.
