Mind you, if you've got a good way of getting rid of moles, I'd appreciate it...our back garden looks like the Somme (except without the gory bits).
S'pose I could just stick the cheese down the hole and hope the smell keeps 'em away....

Hi all,
I just had a thought....the 2007 "vintage" of Beaujolais Nouveau will be released at midnight on 15th November 2007....and CIN night is the following night....
So, what better than to consider having a Cheese and Wine Party in your house (or our chat room) on the evening of the 16th....?
So, you can spend some time and money making a donation to CIN and guessing on the Sweepstake, whilst indulging in some of this years plonk....assuming Tesco / Sainsbury / Waitrose / Morrisons et al pull their finger out and have it available....
Of course, the "Beauj" has some way to come....from somewhere near Macon in France...so it's unlikely it'll be available everywhere in UK
So, the alternative is a nice bottle of Chateau Neuf de Pape or something similar...!
All in favour, say "Aye"...!
regards
Tim
PS Please supply your own cheese and wine !!

Just a little note.
It looks like we're on for another record monthly credit. We hit 6 million today which is TWO days ahead of when we hit 6 million last month! As there is an extra day this month compared to last month we should get around 7.8 Million!
If we carry on at this rate the 8 million month isn't far away, which means that members who have donated to the CIN page may need to update their guesses. Those that haven't are playing a cagey game and waiting in order to win the cheese! (Aren't you?)
Yes, all right, it's a shameless plug to 'bump' this thread.

We're at £62....and it would at least be nice to hit the £100 mark.
There's just 9 DAYS to go to Children In Need night....so dig deep people and let's make this contribution a little more worthwhile......PLEASE ??

Hi all,
Another BUMP...!
Just over 3 days to go (until midnight on CIN night) to register your guesses to the "End of Year" sweepstake...!
C'mon people....wouldn't you just love to be cuddled up with a nice big cheese (and more perhaps?) sometime in early January 2008, coz you guessed the number nearest to the total team credit as at year end 2007.
Get those brains working, make some guesses and please make a donation to CIN....!

Hi all,
OK, so I'm going to try and SAVE you all loads money now.
I'm NOT asking you to bid for Led Zeppelin tickets - so I've already saved you £83,000 !!!
And I'm NOT asking you to bid for a fun day at the next British Grand Prix - so that's another £100,00 you've saved...
And as for the Aled Jones/Katie Melua "double act" ...well, in your dreams people, so that's saved you another £250,000....
That means you've now saved over £433,000.....
So, time for you to dive into your wallet or purse and dig out a few coins of the realm, to the value of 50p per guess....
You've got until the witching hour tomorrow night.......
regards

Hi all,
I have now officially closed the Sweepstake Part 1.
All entries are now confirmed as can be seen on the first page of this thread.
Many thanks to all the members who have generously donated towards the Children In Need charity. We've amassed a very acceptable £185 as a result of the Sweepstake Part 1.
We'll announce the winner of Part 1 once the stats are confirmed on 1st Jan 2008.
regards
Tim
