Commonwealth Boinc Team.

Post by Woodles »

Hi All,

A current newby to TSBT has brought up an interesting concept (to me anyway) - https://tsbt.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php? ... 862#p74805

Does anyone know if this has been suggested before and what the outcome was? Failing that (or maybe regardless of that), what are team members current thoughts?

I'd imagine it as being part of a bigger "umbrella" group akin to the "International" designation but people could still keep their individual loyalties.

Hi Mark

I've read the (short) discussion "over there" and I cannot see any good reason to have a "Commonwealth" team (made up of members from any country that is in the "British Commonwealth").

It might be placed "higher" in the BOINCstats table but that's about all it would do.

And who would it be compared to? A "combined" team comprising all Spanish, French or Portuguese speaking countries? Or maybe a combined states of South American or African team? There could even be "former Unionist" and "former Confederates" teams for the USA...

In fact, the list of possible "combined" teams is huge and endless, so I cannot see it being "workable".

What IS workable is to have a "combined" team for the UK, that is made up a team of members who are crunching BOINC from England, Wales, N. Ireland and if we have to, Scotland too :-) .

Let's call it the "UK BOINC Team" ;-)

regards
Tim
