I'm naturally wary of many fundraisers - for obvious reasons, its a big Planet and with the best will in the world you can't save it all by tomorrow

Every now and then however, a really good one comes up, and this fund raiser for Eliza is one of those. There is a cure - only money stands in the way.... all $1.8Million of it

Its part of an overall $2.5Million effort

Average donation is $10-$25, easily done via PayPal.

Also worth spreading the word on this one via your favourite Sites/Boards etc. The pace of donations has picked up a little, but its an ambitious target, one of the biggest they have done ..... every little helps, and its the latter principle that such very broadly based fundraisers depend on - many tens of thousands of donations of small amounts.

Update

The response has been phenomenal - all helped by the fact this is curable, only money stands in the way. At the time of this email $536,295 has been raised from the "gofundme" target of $1.8million which itself is a part of an overall $2.5million effort.

Its one of gofundme's biggest ever efforts to date, and is creating quite a bit of attention with the size of the campaign.

Of course, assuming "others" will "crack it" ensures donations dry up .........

Put bluntly - $5 or $10 a donor via PayPal to save the kid's life .... its not a lot to ask. See:

gofundme has almost reached its initial $1m goal $935,000 as at this morning....... and the Campaign is on-track for a World Record ever raised by a campaign of this nature .... and this is not just for this kid, tens of thousands in the world suffer from this, and this campaign is holding out hope to them as well ..... this story is wider than "just" Eliza", its about funding a known cure that is not being tackled due to a low "ratio" of funds per life saved. The latter is reality of medicine, but this campaign shows how Social Media can pitch in to make a difference to the "Unfunded".

The Campaign is now shifting into its "final" gear for the run up to the last $800K needed. It has revamped the approach used initially, and very successfully, and is now taking a different tac, to freshen up the campaign, for the last $800K.

This remarkable campaign has definitely caught its "Second Breath" as momentum is picking up once more as they head down the final stretch to the Goal of $1.8million.

At time of this post they are at $981,000, and from the live Donation list, its still coming in nicely. If this keeps up there is every likelihood it will succeed on its Final Goal of $1.8million, and the kid, plus Tens of Thousands like her WorldWide will have a chance of life, not die before their Teens.
