Hi Neil

OUCH !!!!

I know your pain (on the leccy bill) as I was running some quite inefficient Bitcoin miners a couple of years back (for another BOINC project) and my bill rose significantly too...

But GPU's do rather consume quite a bit of leccy, although they are getting better, with more cores these days (compared to previous versions), but a similar or slightly lower power consumption.

Even so, if you have a few of them, it can all mount up :-(

I do wonder about the many BOINC members who have tens of machines, running BOINC - they might be able to generate many thousands of credits per day, but the bills they face must be pretty high.

I think you need to shut down the cannabis farm in the loft

Like you, I can't remember the last time I needed to put the tumble dryer on!
