1 million on Sztaki :)

Post by Woodles »

According to Johns stats I have now reached seven digits on Sztaki :D

At 13 minutes for 6 credits it's been a long slog! :o

Since I also have 26k credits pending, it might be time to stop ... or as Boinc@Poland are 'only' 500k in front on Formula Boinc, I may aim for two million, what's another eighteen months?

Hi Mark

Congratulations - getting to one million on Sztaki takes some perseverance as well as patience !!

By my calculations (and using credits and time per task as you mentioned), 1million on Sztaki would take about 1500 days (using one CPU)....that's nearly 5 years :-(

That's a lot of patience !!!

regards

Hi Tim,

Thanks, it's been a long journey although to be fair, I've only really put the effort in over the past few months :D

In comparison, you can get 1 million on Collatz in a couple of hours or previously on BU in 44 seconds!

Hi Mark

I'm not even going to try and extrapolate the low credits offered by a number of projects: WUProp, Goofy (in any of it's iterations) and others too...although some are NCI, so it's not like one is losing out that much.

One certainly needs to have some motivation though to earn credits with them...and to generate some meaningful "milestones" ;-)

Still, it is, (or they are) what they is/are...

regards
Tim

So just because I've got 10% of the total tasks in progress then that's a bad thing? :D

They don't turn up very often but they should arrive quicker than they finish. It takes a few days to be able to crunch continuously.

Some people claim that work is issued on the hour, twenty minutes past the hour and twenty minutes before the hour. I don't know how accurate that is as I just set up a script to request work every five minutes and left it running for a few days.

Okay thanks; I seem to be getting a few more now.

A script? How have you implemented that? Linux?

Hi Chris,

A script in Linux, a batch file and task scheduler in Windows.

See here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6118&p=116360&hilit ... le#p116360 coincidentally for Sztaki (which is probably where I copied it from at the time :D )
