WCG BETA

Post by UBT - Halifax-lad »

500 WU's are currently been tested for the FightAids@Home project, a graphic is getting tested, so if all goes well there will be a pretty screensaver for who ever likes them
We have launched our first official beta test. We are testing the graphics for FightAIDS@Home. The science application itself is the same as the science application running in the official FightAIDS@Home project. However, we are running this test to make sure that we do not introduce any new errors into the application. The graphics are available on the Windows platform only. We will be running 500 workunits through and if we are satisfied that it is running well then we will release this to the general public. You can check to see if you are signed up to contribue to the BOINC beta testing by visiting this page: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/m ... rofiles.do There will be a separate 'project' statistics page that will show how much run time, points and results have been returned for the beta test. All time you earn for the beta test will be credited to you in the same way that any other project is credited to you.

Lets also hope the credits are good. Mine seen to be downgraded most of the time, on hdc 5.05. and the computers score less than with other projects.
Not sure if their internal software may be better optimised than that for BOINC.
I still crunch WCG as I think the science is better than other biology projects.

What's going on here?

I did 6.5 hours and claim 66,
a.n. other did 3.3 hours and claims 222!

Suppose I shouldn't complain too much as you get the middle result as a credit - so 66 will be the minimum I get. Still looks weird though!

We can't see your results, remember its not a BOINC setup so most the things you can normally show others on BOINC doesn't work through WCG
