We got our highest ever score Friday - http://boincstats.com/stats/team_graph. ... cg&id=6429

We're currently running 17th in the main challenge and top 10 in the other 4 current ones.

4 more challenges started today (2 day ones).

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/ ... 9TGC4G1RP1

Isn't this fun!? :)

Done one of the 'Clean Energy project' WUs on my Q6600, got another one to finish on the AMD. As the wingman did it on just over 2 hours, and mine took 10 I ended up with a credit of 42. That equates to 100 credits per 24 hours! Looks like the other one on the AMD will take nearly 15 hours and it looks like I'll get just over 100. This is one sub-project I'm going to leave out!

Ive got eight results pending - dating back to the 3rd. Not too concerned at the moment, but does anyone have any idea what happens to the pending results after the close of the competition? what I mean is, do they get included in the competition results or just added to your wu points total as normal?

Sorry to be a pain.

Wasn't too sure about this myself but I assumed that only validated results count. I've just done some calculating to work it out and that seems to confirm it. So any validated after the finish won't count toward the challenge.

So i have 3 cores on WCG and 1 on ABC, Still looking to join the 1 Mil club for the end of 2008

Thanks Mickee - thought as much - but hoping otherwise. I suppose including all wu's reported by the deadline would delay announcing winners etc.

Fingers crossed the team haven't got too many pending at the end.

Good luck with the 1 mil MickyB

Cheers

I guess it's a good job the Isle of Wight doesn't have a team, or we'd really be in trouble.   :(

You sure about that?

http://boincstats.com/stats/team_stats. ... %20Kingdom - he say no!
They've overtaken us on weekly credit but that doesn't mean much as they're several million behind.

They've overtaken us in the challenge, not overall :)

Ah - my fault actually! After all this is the WCG Challenge thread!

While I'm here what projects are we doing? I've been doing 'Help Conquer Cancer' for the last few days but it's being a pain as hardly any of them are being validated, so I think I'll go over to another project - probably back to Rice and try to get a silver badge.

Probably a good move Mikee, since Rice has an initial replication of 19 with a quorum of 10, and  HCC has a initial replication of 2 and a quorum of 2, which slows things down badly.

Good thinking! I'll do the same. This is probably the reason I'm getting loads of HCC wu's instead of Rice!

Anyone else having problems getting new wu's for this project?
My Power Mac normally crunches four at a time - down to its last two, and my G4 won't get any new tasks.
The pending queue's getting longer as well...oh joy!

I`m running HCC and Clean Energy, no problems getting WUs at the moment, although the pending ones are building up a bit.

Im doing HCC, Aids and Rice.
I thought at first it may be a platform thing - but Rosetta use to give me the message that 'there was work for other platforms' so its not that I guess.

Ive downloaded a new wu for ABC and Seti so its not a problem with Boinc either. Fingers crossed something turns up. Will run ABC and Seti - keep the puters busy till it does.

Cheers

I'm having problems getting WUs now! Since I upgraded the CUDA driver coincidently. Also seems to be just doing 3 WUs + GPU instead of 4 WU +GPU. Could be just a case of the new installation needing a couple of days to settle down.

I did the same upgrade on one of my systems and for around 30 minutes had only 3 of the 4 processors running, whilst a WU from GPUGRID was running. The 4th processor eventually kicked back in without my doing anything else.

While on the subject of GPUGRID - the WU ran for 20 hours and said it was only 16% through. With it's reporting deadline only 3 days away it was never going to finish so I killed it. Unfortunately this machine has several days work for WCG that it only picks up 1 SETI at a time - runs it for an hour on the GPU, then won't get another all day!

Problem sorted - for now anyway.
Seems that my having several projects suspended, while taking part in the Christmas projects - has caused problems.

Didactylos on the WCG forum wrote "BOINC thinks you don't need any work. Probably your project debts are wrong after having the others set to "no work" for a long time.

Try resetting the project to reset the debt."

I didn't get chance to reset the project - as downloading new wu's for the other projects, must have sorted out the 'debt' which Didactylos mentioned. An HCC wu followed not long after.

Looks like we'll finish a creditable 19th. No one is going to catch us and we're not going to overtake anyone. So I reckon we may as well run down and let the 'pendings' carry us through to the end.

I've heard tales, some say legend of certain projects which grant more favour than others...yeah ok, credits...

I could go on, but would just irritate myself, never mind you lot!

so, are there some projects more credit generous than others?
if so, any pointers?....

Cheers

Milky Way is a very high credit project, plus there is no "wing man". Initial replication 1, minimum quorum 1.

Expect 40 credits per hours per core (@ 2.4 GHz)

Primegrid is good also on the PSP Seive application. Even better if your pc is x64 capable  1.7x the credit of x86 users :)

That`s strange, mine`s an E6600. Maybe it`s a platform issue.
My rig is a Windows Vista.
