Just noticed this on BOINCStats.

http://boincstats.com/index.php?pr=collatz

Doesn't appear to be a BOINC project, which is unusual for BOINCStats.

Haven't found anything relevant referring to 'collatz' and distributed computing yet but have found this which may be what it's referring to.

Are we going to do anything about it?

There's no 'team' system in place at the moment, but that's probably because it's not yet a proper BOINC project.

HERE'S the faq section. I think I'll wait until they make it a little easier to run, ie through the BOINC Manager!

Quite correct, Micky! :D

If you watch Wallace & Gromit Wererabbit film, Wallace is reading a magazine called 'Eyup!' instead of 'Hello!'

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Found the proper site...

http://allprojectstats.com/collatz/index.php

One for the Linux 64 guy's then!
Feb 20, 2004 New client application 1.02
The new client application 1.02 is ready. It includes some optimizations and a minor bugfix. Application 1.0 is still compatible, but will be much slower on new work units. Please upgrade.

Feb 18, 2004 3x+1@home Alpha Test
Currently only 64bit Linux systems are supported
Which leads on to

http://allprojectstats.com/overview.php

Can't say I've seen this site before - or if I have I've forgotten!

What software do I need to join?

You don't need anything special really. The main program is a small EXE program that can run on any Windows platform. So you need a PC. Sorry, there is no version for MacIntosh or Unix systems.
The above is from the FAQ section contained in your original link, Mikee!

Now I'm confused! :?

I think there's 2 versions. Windows one which doesn't use the BOINC client (so no 'BOINC credits) and the Linux one which does (but I'm quite prepared to be corrected!)

Rereading your original link, I think you're right Mikee. The Windows version was the original, then they developed the Linux version and run that through BOINC. I can't understand why the can't put both versions on BOINC though? A lot of other projects run both versions! :D
