Feb 1-28: Tour de Primes

Good at maths? Then why not figure on helping these projects - Gerasim, GPUGrid, Moo! Wrapper, NFS, NumberFields, ODLK, PrimeGrid, Rakesearch, SRBase

Feb 1-28: Tour de Primes

Post by UBT - Mikee »

Hi

Primegrid are doing a challenge - see http://www.primegrid.com/ and http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.p ... 805#114031

Check out the above pages to see which subproject to run, also there's a hack so that you can use more than 1 CPU core to do each task. I've just restarted and am currently doing 6 cores per task. I think I've got the right subprojects running - bit vague on the site!

Hi Mike

OK - I''ll give it a shot...we're in 11th place on FB, and just a couple of mill behind China:
9 BOINC@Poland 2 163,204,360
10 Team China 1 150,971,898
11 UK BOINC Team 0 148,471,698
So, we could gain a place on FB *and* help PG at the same time :-)

regards
Tim

Hi all

The 2018 Tour de Primes result page has now been published:

http://www.primegrid.com/challenge/tdp_2018.php

Sadly, it looks like no UBT members found a Prime :-(

And it seems that only certain sub-projects were "counting" towards the above list, namely:

GFN-16, GFN-17-MEGA, GFN-17-LOW, GFN-18, PPS, PPSE, PPSE-MEGA

So, all the other "sub-projects" didn't seem to be taken into account, so if we do this again sometime, we need to make sure we set our PG Preferences to accept work from certain sub-projects.

But we did overtake Team China and TKWSN and we're in 9th place on FB...but only just !!

regards
Tim
