Each project produces one or more applications that are downloaded to your host PC and which crunches the specific data sets (called Work Units or WUs) for each project.
Some of these projects have specific OS, CPU, memory and/or BOINC Manager client version requirements, so please also use these links to check that your prospective host PC will work with the specific application that the project downloads to your PC.
Also note: Some projects have ceased and some have only a few WUs available (if at all). As such, it makes sense to check the website of the project FIRST to see if they are active and if their reasons for involving BOINC members seems reasonable or plausible...!
