New 'low requirements' Linux OS

Having problems installing that new stick of memory? Found some great software or having issues with something? Or maybe want to chat about your PlayStation, X-Box, Nintendo, Sega, even your old Spectrum 48k....! Or maybe something you want to sell or acquire (computing related of course!). Let us know here...

New 'low requirements' Linux OS

Post by UBT - Timbo »

Hi all

If you have an older PC lying around and want to make use of it (maybe for some BOINC crunching) then this might suit:

Elive Min. Requirements: 192 Mb RAM, 500 Mhz CPU, 32-bit, non-UEFI, sysinit, PAE (bigmem) kernel + 486 kernel

A free download is available:

https://www.elivecd.org/download/stable/

An email is sent to you with a link, which is delayed (one assumes to minimise bandwidth) or you can make a donation and download it sooner.

Might give this a whirl on a couple of older PC's that arent doing much !!

regards
Tim
