NVidia bans use of GTX GPUs in data centers

Hi all I just found this news item that NVidia are banning the use of GTX and Titan GPU products within data centers... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/03/nvidia_server_gpus/ At first I thought this might have a "knock-on" effect for BOINC, until I found the caveat: Nvidia claimed it does not p...

Last post of 2017

Hi all, This is a quick and dirty competition...who will be last member to post with a 2017 year date? So your task is to reply to this thread as late as possible tonight and see if you can create the last posting of 2017. It won't be me, as I'll be out somewhere or other... ;-) regards and Happy Ne...

Re: Why Amazon delivers small items in huge boxes.

Hi Will I always thought it was because the delivery drivers had poor eyesight and couldn't "see" small packages, even if they had large labels on them...so, they use larger boxes which are more uniform to see. Also, small packages can get "lost" easily within the drivers clothing, so by making the ...

Re: Finally I get a proper mining mobo

Hi Chris

For a recent mobo, I'm surprised to see that it has a serial port and a 25 pin parallel port...I thought those had been consigned to the "old tech" junk pile...!!

Hi Mikee Nice to see "White Van Man" maintaining his position as "top twat" ;-) I see the same sort of thing in my neck of the woods (South Cheshire/North Staffs) and I'm waiting for a dashcam that looks both backwards and forwards as well as auto-focusing on twat drivers number plates... What I'm N...

Re: Some advice on running VirtualBox VM's?

Hi Mark, Thanks for the info, at this time I just trying to run Yafu on VMs.. I am trying to work out how this guy has a Mag of over 2,000, and yet each 'host' is doing so little (when it should be doing so much more). And each 'host' are exactly the same in most cases - so I am guessing he is runn...

Hi So I was wandering about and stumbled on this page http://stats.distributed.net/projects.php?project_id=8 Seems there's enough work up to 134 years - though the key may be cracked any time before then. Just as a bit of encouragement there's a decent prize for the discoverer of the key of $10,000...

Re: When you decide you are going to start mining Ethereum!

Hi Chris And apparently, you can buy BIOS upgrades for AMD GPu's on fleabay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112664806446 However, upgrading to just 29.5-30.5 MH/s for ETHEREUM, seems like a waste (unless someone else can enlighten me) as a small Antminer can do 1.6GH/s and thats just running on a 5 V ra...

Re: ** GONE ** FREE Destiny 2 PC Game (RRP £45) for a UBT Member!

Hi both Glad you got the game Mark - I'm not into games at all these days, just don't have the time... But, a good few years ago, I did get "into" both Wolfenstein (the original) and then the shareware version of Doom, which then really got me "into" more gaming and I then got Doom 11 after that, al...

Re: Fundraising (website running costs)

Hi Chris

Thanks for the confirmation - I was going to ping an email to the email address, just to see who might have made the donation, so no need to do that now ;-)

And many thanks for making the donation...I'm just sorry I took a while to get around to acknowledging it.

Re: Fundraising (website running costs)

Hi all

I've received a small donation (about a month ago) from someone with the initials "C. N." and with the number 2001 in their email address, but I don't recognise who it was who sent it - anyone care to admit to this?

Hi Mark

The two "Keiths" are indeed different - one is aka "hgblade" and the second is aka "Mudbankkeith".

So, your table is correct as it stands.

Hi Mark Excellent work !! The one issue with Temujins/Johns website is that it isn't up to date and hence some newer projects are not included and so any millionaire members (of these newer projects) are not taken into account on the website "Millionaires" page. Your automated stats are therefore mu...
