WCG stats

Hi all I just became aware that apparently WCG has stopped exporting it's credit stats, due to GDPR legislation. One assumes they were exporting some personal data in the stats and by ceasing this, they now comply. https://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/country/list/ I'm glad Formula-BOINC choose WCG as...

Re: Win an 8086 CPU - closes at 1AM Saturday UK time.

Hi Tim, Me neither but I have entered with a few email addresses to increase my chances :liar: Hi Mark Good thinking.....I just entered a few more myself...I wonder if they will monitor the IP address of each entry ? Shame you won't be able to use one if you win it, I'm prepared to take it off your...

Re: Win an 8086 CPU - closes at 1AM Saturday UK time.

Hi Mark Entered....doubt I'll win though :-( I skipped the 8086/8088 generation and went straight for an 80286 and added an 80287 afterwards... If I win one though, the specs look good, but it won't fit my 80286 motherboard ;-) (or any other mobo I have)....which means I'll have to buy a suitable mo...

Congratulations Tim, working your way through the alphabet? :) Hi Mark Not quite...though I can see that that plan might suit some people ;-) I've always wanted to get at least one million on each project...but various Challenges and Crunches that the team has taken part in, has always affected whi...

1 million on Rosetta for me ;-)

Hi all At last I've got there...one million credits on Rosetta. :-) It's taken me ages to get there...and it's one of the earliest BOINC projects I joined too (25th Sept 2005), so there's not really an excuse for it taking nigh on 13 years to achieve this. So, I'll treat myself to a wee drop of beer...

section shuffle

For ease of maintenance I've made a temporary shuffle of some sections in order to make it easy to merge some topics from one section to another. I've also tidied up two of the sections - so one section is now for and about the members with the other section becoming more specific to BOINC and the p...

Re: UBT on Facebook / Twitter

Hi all I'm just "bumping" up this posting as yesterday the hosting servers for the forum had a bit of an issue, which resulted in it being very difficult to log into the forum. (it was nothing to do with the forum itself - just the service providers hosting platform that became "erratic" and "non-re...

Re: BBC Premier League Football Predictor

Well done, I missed too many midweek rounds for the premiership, I'll happily take 2nd in the SPL Hi Mark Excellent and well done for a very good 2nd place in the SPL table. And 16th in the PL table isn't a bad score either ;-) Also: Looking at how well he did, Lawro's result after 38 "sets" of gam...

Re: BBC Premier League Football Predictor

Hi all The footie season is now over and for those who played the BBC Predictor game, the final standings are now "in". Premier League In the UBT PL table, I ended on a high with 160 points on the final weekend, leading to a total of 2790 points and 7th place. The participants who actually scored po...

Goofy (NCI) project is back

Hi all Not sure if this is "news" to anyone, but I'm now able to download Goofy NCI tasks. How long this will continue for, I don't know... But if you've been crunching them before, time to "allow" tasks again. If you've not joined this project, use BOINC Manager to Add the project with this: http:/...

Re: Advertising on UBT forum

Hi all Well, I'm *STILL* waiting for Google AdSense to kick in....I believe they need to assess the website and make sure it complies with their criteria...but as they've not told me what the criteria is or even what they expect me to do (other than to add their code snippets), then I'm really not s...

Re: Leiden closing

Hi Mark Shame....was always a good project with very few issues (IMHO). It really does look like a few projects are giving up on BOINC, for whatever reason. And it won't be long before Johns "ubtstats" website is just kicking it's heels, with very few stats to update. :-( Hopefully some other, bette...

Re: Duchamp Sourcefinder closing

Hi Mark That's a shame...but OTOH, it might mean that the projects that continue to be active might attact more members crunching for them. The obvious downside is that the data gathered by projects will end and hence whatever research it is they are/were carrying out, will end. However, some previo...

Re: Sztaki closing

HI Mark Thanks for the update - with hindsight, it's obvious that the Pentathlon would have an effect as teams clambered for credits...and where we don't have enough "firepower" so those projects would suffer...hence we lost lots of positions on Numberfields. Sadly that project is the Pentathlon mar...

Re: Sztaki closing

Hi Mikee Well, we've gained 15 points on Sztaki and gained 10 points on the last Sprint...so that makes a gain of 25 points...and yet we're still on 178 points overall...I'd have thought we'd have more points than that? Have we lost out on some of the other projects recently? Maybe Mark has the answ...
