Re: Formula-BOINC Sprint #17 20th-23rd Oct 2017

Hi Mike, Nicely done, there seems to be a few people that have created accounts only today :angelic-green: I'm still sticking with the "no network and upload them all when it's started" approach but having a bit of difficulty filling enough cache to keep going until the morning :( Still, I...

Hi Chris,

Well done that man :handgestures-thumbupright:

So long as work remains available I'm expecting our usual upper middle placing.

Re: Tweaking cc_config.xml

Some projects limit the number of tasks that you're allowed to have stored based on the number of cores available on the machine. Normally this isn't a problem but occasionally, you may want a bigger cache than the project allows (intermittent internet connection, storing up work to submit all in on...

Re: Formula-BOINC Sprint #17 20th-23rd Oct 2017

Hi Chris, I expect it'll have been related to the sudden increase in traffic that their server is getting just now, I had a few downloads back off with 'no internet access' for a few minutes. You'll be limited to 10 tasks per core so you may want to temporarily increase the number of cores that Boin...

Hi Chris, Keith has also mentioned that he's not getting notifications any more so it's not just you. Might be worth mentioning it to Tim? --- I've just tried to create another account now and it's worked fine. They do have a captcha on the "create an account" page so maybe BAM is missing ...

Re: Formula-BOINC Sprint #17 20th-23rd Oct 2017

Hi Tim,

Signed up and crunching my first WU :D

It claims to be an SSE2 type though so I don't know how that compares timewise to the avx ones.

Given enough WUs, I might be able to find out.

Re: Formula-BOINC Sprint #17 20th-23rd Oct 2017

Yeah I guess that makes sense. We need to then know how much credit on average a 90 min work unit gets awarded on completion? That way we can tell roughly how many cores are going to be required to produce 30K+ per day. It appears that all the WUs produce roughly 45 credits regardless of time or CP...

Re: Goofyxgrid - Extra Credits :)

Hi Chris, You have a point, I'll set up a host tonight and build up the credits ready for when the project is recognised again. Re. WUProp, I think the problem is that the data produced isn't very useful. Running 200 copies of Enigma for instance, on a single core machine would just report to WUProp...
