Re: UBT now UK #1 for ODLK

Indeed I did.

Sadly we don't have any number one world rankings although we are in the top 100 for all but one project, the top fifty for all but five and the top ten for four so not doing too badly :D

UBT now UK #1 for ODLK

Waiting for stats export to Boincstats again but according to ODLK:

Code: Select all

UK BOINC Team 5,570,134
The Scottish Boinc Team	5,564,522
So that makes it 19 first places out of our currently active projects plus the overall number one of course :)

Did you look it up? (loid, that is). It was a word I knew, ....but I've never used one, honest!
Yep, got to know when to use it in future (the word that is)

Re: Windows 7 "winload.exe" file size?

Hi Tim, Looks like the 32 bit version of Windows 7 has a much smaller filesize then ... or it became much more compact after a few more revisions :) Good luck trying the different versions. It appears that Windows 10 would't really be an option with only 2 gig of RAM, the 32 bit version uses 1 gig j...

Re: Windows 7 "winload.exe" file size?

Re. Licenses, Chris recommended this site when we were building the dual Xeon systems. Windows 7 licences seems to cover either 32 or 64 bit systems so that shouldn't be a concern, Windows 7 home Premium - £13.99 https://softwaregeeks.co.uk/product/windows-7-home-premium-3264bit-product-key-coa/ Win...

Re: Windows 7 "winload.exe" file size?

Hi Tim, How much RAM does the laptop have? If it's more than 4 gig then it's a 64bit version as 32 bit systems can only access 4 gig, no point in having more than that fitted. My installs were all done from the same few DVDs so I only have three variants and I don't have Windows 7 Home premium my Wi...

Hi

What a bungle! For some weird reason I was doing "The Riesel Problem LLR (TRP)" I'm sure I selected "Proth Prime Search LLR (PPS)" and I probably did but forgot to save! So forgot anything I said about 4 CPU and stuff!

Mike
i thought 20 hours and 5000 credits sounded wrong!

Re: Primegrid 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing Challenge

Hi All, Not taking part in this as I'm busy doing other stuff but for those that are, from past experience PPS runs best when all the table can fit in the cache which is with two threads per task for most modern CPUs. Older Xeons with bigger caches are better with one thread per task but it's fairly...

Re: ..and another new BOINC project - https://boinc.tbrada.eu/

Hi Tim, Quite right :handgestures-thumbup: And with it being a new project there's more of an opportunity for new users doing well in it. It's much easier to reach the top ten (or better) users in the team if there isn't already 20 people there who have been crunching it for years and are sitting on...
