Re: WCG on Android :-)

Ahh just noticed this while I was looking something to put my 2 old Android phones to work on.
So they will be soon doing some work for WCG once they finish what they were trying to do. :)

Re: Project - "Gridcoin Finance"

Welp I will not be running this. It's supposed to be NCI, but when running it kills CPU based work. Enigma and POGS both ran at 55% CPU usage when this was running. Also not recommended to run this on a SSD. It hammers writes to your drive and in the 3 hours it runs for it writes around 2.5GB And if...

Re: Project - "Gridcoin Finance"

Yeah the estimated time is way off. It reported 1 day 12 hours on 1 PC & 2 days 11 hours on the other. Both workunits finished in around 2 hours 50 minutes. And looking at the results info it seems the project has a coded max runtime of 9999 seconds (so you get over 10K seconds, probably due to when...

Re: Project - "Gridcoin Finance"

Well it has settled down now. Jumping between 0.1% & 0.5% . but mine has been running for 40 minutes says 1.9% done and 1 Day 10 Hours left to complete. But I don't know how accurate that is. And if it is accurate then neither of my 2 PCs running the workunit with it's 24 hour deadline would finish ...

Err it's not exactly NCI when it is using a full core...
Taskmanager shows it using 19.2% CPU.

Re: Collatz Conjecture down?

Seems it a DNS issue. Project is still up and working, just that some DNS servers are having issues resolving the IP address. You can fix it by editing your host file %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\ And adding the following to it. 50.158.27.76 thesonntags.com 50.158.27.76 boinc.thesonntags.com Yo...

Collatz Conjecture down?

Is Collatz Conjecture down for everyone? Just asking to make sure it is not my Internet being daft again. As I just get the error when I tried to load the website in Chrome that "boinc.thesonntags.com’s server DNS address could not be found." And Boinc says " Collatz Conjecture 26/03/2016 12:32:42 S...

Re: GPUGrid taking the michael...

Not related to the GPUgrid issue (not done the project since I had\it supported my 8800GTX). I just attached to POEM on my 3 GPUs ( GTX460, GTX580 & GTX960) , and all 3 of them are doing GPU based work. All 3 systems are on Windows 10 Pro x64, and have driver version 362.00 from Nvidia website rathe...

Re: cheap nvidia card

I own 3 Nvidia cards, a GTX460 (768MB), a GTX580 (1.5GB) & a GTX960 (4GB) While the GTX460 is a "slow GPU" it is reliable and plods along quite happy on different projects I was given the 460 by a friend (after I had a PSU go nuclear and basically blow the PC it was in apart, to replace a 8800GT tha...

Re: Goofyxgrid

I did check in Boinc on the off chance Boinc Viewer was being silly. But the PC was running 12 tasks. However I am guessing Goofy went a bit Goofy and had some sort of problem as when I look at my tasks on my account page, it says I have 68 tasks in progress. And umm no I do not have anywhere near t...

Re: Goofyxgrid

Have they changed the amount of workunits that can run at once?
My AMD 6 core is running 12 of them at once. ( As you can see )
but none of my other systems are running more than 2?

Re: Proposal for Crunchathon - February 2016

So since both Pogs and Sztaki have no work. (well Pogs does have some work at times but they always seem to be those 15 second workunits that don't validate) I have put both PC's and my old Android phone onto Enigma. However my Android tablet is running Android 6.01 (marshmallow) and Enigma does not...

Re: Proposal for Crunchathon - February 2016

Ok I got 1 core running on the A6 (CPU temp seems to stay around 45'c) However on my 6 core system I cannot have Boinc (CPU or GPU work, NCI tasks are fine) and Teamspeak running at the same time. I have tried the only run when PC is not being used & also tried the setting of suspend all work if "pr...

Re: Proposal for Crunchathon - February 2016

Got 2 CPU cores and 3 Android units running for Pogs. I do have 8 more CPU cores but due to 1 PC (dual core AMD A6), only having stock cooler it runs way to hot when doing CPU work :( . (The A6 was an emergency replacement system after the PSU that was in the PC before that decided to go nuclear on ...
