Re: Primegrid Kathryn Johnston Memorial

i gave up on this when i found out most of AC just buy 3 droplet xeon VMs from TSC. I believe tng had over 500 going. from a personal point of view i would rather see actual computers owned by ppl take part. not just who has the deepest pockets wins. Someone i believe said that 2k a week running co...

Re: Primegrid Kathryn Johnston Memorial

Thanks Neil and Tim Some strange pricing over there on TSC. The unit price per core scales in a weird way. we know. most cost effective is the 3 droplet. i asked why the 6 droplet was x5 times the price. has to do with the memory and disc space associated with the 6 droplet instance. 2x 3 droplet w...

Re: Primegrid Kathryn Johnston Memorial

Janos take a mosey on over to the primegrid discord channel. some interesting stuff. most of the antartic crunchers reside. i would also speak to ChelseaOilman as he might be able to shed a bit more light. i did 5 or 6 3 core droplets on TSC running SGS and PPSE workunits for Primegrid. about $50 wo...

I set the tasks to use 4 threads and they still take a long time to finish. I didn't turn off HT though.
ahh now i see what you're doing. DOH!!!!!! im so stupid. multiple VMs. A lot of them seem to be paying for 3 droplet instances in TSC

Mark

I have aborted all my ODLS workunits on all my hosts and set project preferences to spstarter and test separator. all running fine now on main rig. about 15 - 20 minutes each task with a few that are much shorter. does that sound about right. just passed 1M credits. go me.

Re: Gerasim at FormulaBOINC

Mark Any comments on the ODLS work units? I have a load of units that are not completing. Taking hours to get to, 99.9x percent and just never seem to complete. Is any one else getting this. I see some WU timeout as invalid. Only seems to be on my main rig the 7920x with 95% of core in use( I allow ...

1080ti is doing them in about 260 seconds👍 I’m sure Damien can let us know how long a 2080ti takes and Carl the Titan series.
