2nd Weekend Crunch

Updated: 27th March 2006
The 2nd "Weekend Crunch" has now finished.

The results are now in and we can report that we have successfully increased our total average credit as a result (we assume) of members crunching more WU's over the weekend.

In terms of actual results, the following table shows what happened:

As can be seen, we significantly increased our credits for both Rosetta and Einstein, (which was the whole idea of doing the Crunch), but at the expense of one or two other projects, which was also expected.

See here how well we did for Einstein credits

And see the increase in Active Einstein hosts here

We have some slightly different plans for our NEXT crunch - join our team forum (it's free) and wait for our next announcement...!

Updated: 22nd March - IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Due to problems at the Rosetta project - we'll be crunching for EINSTEIN this weekend and not ROSETTA

As such, for the next section of this page, we've replaced the word "ROSETTA" with the word "EINSTEIN"

Updated: 16th March
Just in case you missed the announcement on our Forum, our 2nd Weekend Crunch taking place on the weekend of 25th-26th March will be for the benefit of "EINSTEIN" project. If you need more info, please visit our team forum and check out the Announcements sections.

Updated: 9th March
The current voting (see our forum) shows the following member preference, with regards to the next project for the "2nd Weekend Crunch".

Project Votes cast (%age)
Those voting for Rosetta 7 (58%)
Those voting for Einstein 3 (25%)
Those who will be crunching for either/both the above, during the "Crunch" 2 (16%)

Assuming that this stays roughly the same, I would consider that for the 2nd Weekend Crunch, that our chosen project is most likely to be "Rosetta",
(Einstein will be our chosen "back-up" project, if Rosetta has no work available or they have server trouble).

I will leave it until Saturday 11th March to allow some late voting to be possible and then on Sunday will send out the invitation emails to Team members so that they can participate in the next Crunch.

Updated: 27th Feb
Our 2nd "Weekend Crunch" is now in the planning stage.
With the first Crunch now over, (see the RESULTS here) we'd like to put plans in place for the 2nd, which we would like to take place over the weekend of:
25th-26th March 2006

The actual project is being chosen by team members who visit our forum - you can cast your vote if you join up.
(note: no nasty spam results from being a member !!)

All you then have to do (on/before 25th March), is to make sure you are already a member of the chosen project.
Then set all your other projects to "No new work" as well as "suspending" them from actually doing any crunching during the week-end.
Thirdly, set the chosen project as the only one able to download new work.
Finally, on/after 27th March, you can switch each of the other projects back to "Allow new work" and "Resume".

In future months, we'll be featuring other projects.
If Team members would like to vote for a project to feature in a Crunch - please see the Team forum.

All comments/suggestions welcome !
send the team founder an email
